Michael has been a dance teacher at the Studio Harmonic since 2007 and at the Académie Internationale de la Danse since 2009.
He also gives dance masterclasses in France and abroad.
My conception of teaching
“I conceive teaching dance as a wonderful opportunity to transmit, a way of awakening the intimate personality of each individual. I like to lead people who follow my classes towards a physical, creative and artistic construction, where they can free themselves from rules and codes, develop body awareness, and express their depth of emotion in the here and now. Flow, harmony, openness, sensitivity and musicality are essential to finding one’s inner strength and authenticity.”
Michael’s method has been inspired by two types of learning processes. The first one, based on the techniques of modern jazz, is centered on music, the main inspiration for the movement and its interpretation. A true poet of movement, Michael invites musicality to meet substance so that dancing becomes the intimate fusion of music and body. The second one is based on modern expression and contemporary dance. Centered on meaning and accessibility of organic shapes, he invites his dancers to express themselves in a sensitive, intense and free way, following the natural lead of their bodies—a very instinctive way to convey a larger range of emotions. From earth to sky, where the energies meet, join, oppose, the dancer experiments, creates, writes his own language with that unique sensation—the state of grace of living for the moment.
My professional background
I followed the professional cursus in the Studio Harmonic and graduated from the Conservatory. Simultaneously, I was a dancer in companies such as ‘Ballets Temps d’Aime,’ managed by Vincent Ansart, as well as in various advertisements.” He also took part in many musical productions, distinguishing himself through his very personal style, marked by intuition and energy. He interpreted creations by Stephan Loras, Vincent Ansart and Sebastien Savin.
Michael obtained his State Dance Teacher degree in 2007 from the National Center of Dance and started teaching in different Parisian schools, such as the Studio Harmonic (from 2007) and the Académie Nationale de la Danse (from 2009). He also gives masterclasses in France (Marseille, Nice, Toulouse, Toulon, Lyon, Paris, Bordeaux, Ajaccio, Valenciennes, Lille, Sedan) and abroad (Belgium,
Italy, Poland, Russia). His classes reflect his personality, with a subtle mix of energy and sensitivity while exploring different universes. He set up his own company in 2010.
